Decorah School Board will talk about the future of elementary school facilities

On Monday night Decorah Community School Board President Ron Fadness said the district needs to stop delaying a decision about what to do about its elementary school facilities.

Fadness said the school district has three options to consider: 1) do nothing; 2) work on an air conditioning plan for John Cline and West Side Schools; or 3) develop a comprehensive new construction plan.

The Decorah School Board has discussed the issue in the past, but not recently, in part due to reservations about initiating another school bond referendum.

The school board has tentatively scheduled a special meeting at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 20th, to identify their priorities of questions to be asked in a district wide survey to be sent to residents later this spring.
