The Decorah Police Department has just released the results of its Special Traffic Enforcement Program during the Thanksgiving holiday week.
Officers from the Decorah Police Department made three felony arrests, four narcotics arrest and three drunk driving arrests during the week. Nine motor vehicle accidents were investigated, two of which were accidents that involved injuries.
Five speeding citations were issued; two drivers were ticketed for stop sign violations; four drivers for having no insurance; and one driver for driving without a license. Additionally, two drivers were cited for driving while revoked or suspended and one registration violation was issued.
Before the start of the STEP, 88 percent of motorists were using seat belts; afterward 94 percent were using seat belts.
