A new shelter has been installed at Freeport Park and is now available for public use.
The shelter was constructed by Wild Rose Timberworks out of cedar beams and using traditional timber-framing techniques. The shelter also features a steel roof and new cement pad.
Major financial support for the shelter was provided by the Arlin Falck Foundation. Additional funds were provided by Trails from Freeport and Winneshiek County Conservation.
The old shelter was removed and relocated to the Winneshiek County Recycling center for their use.
