The Winneshiek Medical Center Foundation is continuing to work to raise money to buy a new ambulance.
WMC Foundation Coordinator Holly Kanengieter, WMC Ambulance Manager Steve VandenBrink and WMC Board Member Karl Jacobsen recently visited members of the Decorah Lions Club to discuss the need for a new ambulance.
VandenBrink said that the oldest of WMC's three ambulances needs to be replaced. The ambulance service responded to 1,500 emergency calls in 2014. It delivered over 700 patients to the hospital last year as well as additional trips to LaCrosse, Rochester and other facilities, putting on over 62,000 miles.
