4-H members and volunteers have been recognized for their contributions

Decorah resident Leroy McClintock

Decorah resident Leroy McClintock has been recognized for 50 years of service as a 4-H leader.  Also being honored for their contributions are Steve and Donella Darrington for 25 years of service and David Ranum for 15 years of service.

The 4-H Meritorious Service Award has been given to Steve Langland of Decorah for his help and contributions to county 4-H fundraisers.

The Honorary 4-H Award has been given to Sue Bruvold of Decorah, a long time 4-H leader of the Washington Prairie Peppers.

The 4-H Alumni Award was presented to Gordon Hunter, who has been a 4-H leader for 30 years.

4-H Volunteer Awards have been presented to Drew White, Aric and Isaac Luzum and Paul, Sue, Kelsey and Joni Bruvold.

The Top 4-H Secretary Book was awarded to Jada Vanden Brink of the Decorah Chiefs.

The Top 4-H Treasurer Book was awarded to Ashley Darling of the Decorah Chiefs with recognition also given to Tyler Bullerman from Hesper Helpers and to Abby Moen from Washington Prairie Peppers.

The overall achievement awards are the top awards available to 4-H members at the county level.  Youth receiving these awards include:

Club Awards
Herdsmanship awards were presented to the Washington Prairie Peppers and Lincoln Leaders. Two monetary awards were donated by the Ag Committee of the Decorah Chamber of Commerce and were presented to the award winners during the 2015 Winneshiek County Fair.

The Turkey Valley Clovers received the Community Service Award. Throughout the year, the club actively volunteers and provides service learning opportunities for club members.

Clubs receiving a certificate for their donation of $3.00 per member or more in the Iowa 4-H'ers for 4-H Campaign include the Decorah Chiefs, Glenwood 4-H, Hesper Helpers, Lincoln Leaders, Madison 4-H, and Washington Prairie Peppers.
