Decorah High School students spent Tuesday morning sending food to people overseas who need food.
"Project Outreach" is an organization that sends packaged meals to those in need of food overseas. The bags contain basic staples that can be made into meals.
On Tuesday Decorah students were at the Danan Lansing Building at the Fairgrounds. They measured out the dry foods that would be included in bags that would be put into boxes to be shipped overseas.
Outreach Event Coordinator Leon Sporrer says the boxes--over 500 of them--will be shipped to Des Moines and eventually to Tanzania.
This is the second year Decorah High School students have tackled the project. The meal packing was coordinated by the Decorah FFA chapter.
