The National Weather Service Office in La Crosse reports two snowfall totals in the Decorah area--one of 5.5 inches and another of 8.5 inches.
Other areas of Northeast Iowa and Southwest Wisconsin got more snow. The National Weather Service says Guttenberg received 12 inches of snow, as did Platteville in Grant County, Wisconsin. Fayette received 11.3 inches of snow, while Oelwein received 10 inches.
But other nearby communities missed out on much of the snow. Caledonia received 1.8 inches of snow; Rochester received 1.2 inches; the La Crosse Airport received 0.7 inch; and Holmen got just 0.2 inch.
