New billboard promotes visiting Decorah

The Winneshiek County Convention & Visitors Bureau has begun using the billboard located at LetterWerks north of Decorah on Highway 52.  The billboard went up last month and will stay up for a full year.

The objective of the billboard is to drive guests to the Decorah Visitor Center on Water Street, where the staff and volunteers will help visitors plan their stay.  Winneshiek County Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Charlene Selbee says the Visitor Center is an important marketing tool to encourage visitors to stay one more day in Decorah.

The billboard designed by Dawn Maroushek-Austin of LetterWerks features four different images representing the four seasons Winneshiek County residents enjoy. The images featured on the billboard were provided by Iowa Public Television's John Torpy, nature photographer Joyce Meyer of Spillville, Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce staffer Tyler Rinken; and former Winneshiek County Development, Inc. Executive Director Randy Uhl.
