Decorah FFA Chapter named a National 3-Star FFA Chapter

Posted: Tue, Nov 3, 2015 2:38 PM

The Decorah FFA has been named a 3-star chapter--the highest star rating awarded by the National FFA Organization.

In order to qualify for national evaluation, a chapter must complete fifteen chapter activities that encourage student, chapter, and community development and place in the top ten percent in the state.

This award is based on the chapter's activities designed to promote member career success, teamwork, and the ability to serve others. The Decorah FFA encourages members to develop premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through a variety of activities. These activities include the fodder system, chapter proficiency contest, career development events, hosting a faculty breakfast, FFA week promotions, Culver's Thank You Farmers events, organizing a school wide food drive, organizing an agricultural show on the road to the area nursing homes, and participating in Winneshiek County Relay for Life.
