NICC Board told that over half of the school's operating budget is paid with money from students

NICC Board members got an update this week on the school's 2014-2015 fiscal years finances from NICC executive director of finance Tom Ridout.

The school had $81.8 million in revenues during FY15.  $31.1 million of that was money in the operational fund, according to Ridout. He told board members that 51 percent of the funds in the operationalbudget come from student tuition and fees.

Of the remaining funds, 33 percent came fromstate aid and seven percent from local support.

Ridout conclude by saying, "The college isin good financial standing, yet decreases in revenue could present challengesin the coming years."
