Early Childhood Farm to Preschool Mini Grant helps West Side students learn about food

An "Early Childhood Farm to Preschool Mini Grant" is helping students at West Side Early Childhood Center to learn more about food.

The grant is being used to purchase local food for taste tests in the classroom, cooking experiences, local farm visits and garden visits and other school programs.  The programs are running in Early Childhood Special Education classes, 4-Year-Old Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten and Sunflower Preschool.

The goal of the grant is to connect children and families with local foods and healthy eating.
