Kay e-mails: "(On the) road next to Pallisades park, next to the river, someone has knocked over all the trees. What was a beautiful shady walk, is now filled with destroyed trees and limbs, all left to fall into the river. It looks like a war zone.
...How does it serve tourism in this county if we take down trees with red and yellow fall foliage or take out all the shade for walking and biking on that road? ...I would like this destruction brought to others attention. I think it is a terrible stewardship of our resources."
Mr Answer Person says: "The tree removal was done by county crews at the request of the landowners at the end of the road, who were worried about their farm equipment being able to go down the road.
The work was done using mowing equipment, which explains why the area looks the way it does.
Fortunately, the trees will grow back, so the road won't always look the way it does now. In the meantime, you can pass along your comments to your elected officials.
