Northeast Iowa Community College has announced that it will be inducting Decorah resident Don Roby--the college's former president—into the NICC Hall of Fame.  Roby will be inducted in a ceremony Monday, October 19th at NICC Calmar.  The ceremony will also inducted three NICC alumni who are Calmar campus graduates and one retiree previously employed at the Calmar campus.

Roby served as NICC president from 1990 to 1998, after previously serving as vice president of administration for Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. From 1979 to 1984, he was the vice president at NICC who provided leadership for the new Peosta campus and coordinated the relocation of academic programs from the Dubuque area into the facility.

Also being honored October 19th are Garth W. Griffin, a 1974 NICC Ag Business graduate; Scott Melcher, a 1976 NICC Farm Management Technology graduate; and Dennis "Jack" Wenthe, a 1968 NICC Bookkeeping/Accounting.

NICC will also present the Outstanding Retiree Service Award to Dan Neuzil, of Fort Atkinson, who worked at NICC as a maintenance plumber and electrician from 1972 to 1992.  Neuzil is a founding member of the Ft. Atkinson Fire Department and has served as a firefighter for nearly five decades.
