Books are available for checkout for Decorah Library HIstory Book Group's next discussion

The Decorah Public Library history book group will discuss E.H. Gombrich's "A Little History of the World" at 6:30 p.m. on October 15th.  Copies of the book are now available for checkout at the library's front desk. The group is open to the public and newcomers are encouraged to attend.

In 1935, with a doctorate in art history and no prospect of a job, the 26-year-old Ernst Gombrich was invited to attempt a history of the world for younger readers. Amazingly, he completed the task in six weeks.

A unique book published 70 years ago with a young adult audience in mind, Gombrich's "A Little History" has become a favorite of both children and adults worldwide.
