The Winneshiek County Planning and Zoning commission will be holding a round table discussion October 13th to gather information from stakeholders on resource protection regulation.
The discussion will take place during the regularly scheduled Planning and Zoning Commission meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 13th in the large courtroom of the Winneshiek County courthouse. The Planning & Zoning commission is very interested in hearing from all people either for or against proposed regulation.
The Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors has directed the Planning and Zoning Commission to consider the regulation of development to protect scenic vistas, trout waters, water quality and quantity, tourism, sensitive habitats, air quality, sites or localities of historic significance, and the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Winneshiek County.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is interested in knowing what areas, features and resources the residents of Winneshiek County feel need protection from development and what regulation is warranted to protect these areas, features and resources without causing undue hardship to the landowner.
If you have ideas or concerns on "resource protection" regulation, please plan to attend. Written comments can be sent to the Winneshiek County Zoning office.
