Seven candidates file nomination papers for City of Decorah offices

There will be one contested Decorah City Council race in the November 3rd election.

Both Kirk Johnson and Jim McIntosh have filed nomination papers to run for one the city council's two at large seats (the other seat is not up for election).

Dan Bellrichard will be the only candidate on the ballot in the 2nd Ward; Andy Carlson will be the lone name on the ballot in the 3rd Ward; and no one filed nomination papers in the 4th Ward, so the position will be filled through write-in votes.

Three incumbents have filed nomination papers for another term on the Decorah Parks & Recreation Board--Rich Gaard, Jeff O'Gara and Kathy Bakken.
