The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says it made three arrests over the Labor Day weekend.
On Sunday 34-year-old Breanna Luna of Cedar Rapids was northbound on Highway 52 and was stopped for speeding. Deputies learned she was driving whole her license was barred, so they arrested her and took her to the county jail.
On Saturday night deputies made two alcohol-related arrests. 52-year-old William Blake of Waukon was arrested for drunk driving around 11:00 p.m. north of Decorah. 15 minutes earlier deputies arrested 38-year-old Timothy Newman of Mabel on a charge of public intoxication. Newman had been on the Upper Iowa River and requested help. But deputies say when they arrived, Newman was very intoxicated, so they placed him under arrest and took him to jail.
