The management of KPVL Radio has announced it will close its doors by the end of the year if another group doesn't come forward to take over the operation of the station.
KPVL is licensed to Postville, with a transmitter there. A statement released by the radio station's management states, "Due to changes within the Postville community and the inability for Decorah (residents) to clearly hear our broadcast, the station has not been able to garner the support needed to keep the station running."
The statement continues, "Our goal has always been to keep the station running and since it is a community station, owned by the community, we wish to allow the communities a chance to continue the services before we are forced to close."
The radio station is also looking for groups in West Union, Monona or any place within a 20 mile radius of Postville to take over operation of KPVL. "We are hoping that some community would see the golden opportunity that exists and would have interest in continuing the services," concludes the statement.
