Six members of the Hannah Lee Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution attended last weekend's dedication of the James Marvin Lee Memorial in Fayette.

Carol Hasvold, Marilyn Holland, Wendy Novak, Virginia Larimer, Becky McCabe and Ellen Post provided a wreath for the dedication and presented the Lee family with a certificate of appreciation for the James Lee's service to his country.

Lee grew up in Fayette, then joined the Marine Corps.  On March 16, 1969 he drove a truck loaded with ammunition that hit a land mine in Vietnam's Quang Tri Province.

The monument to Lee, an inscribed bench, was unveiled at a ceremony near downtown Fayette on Saturday.
