A new beef facility at the NICC Calmar campus could become a reality after a meeting early Thursday morning.
The new beef facility would be located north of Iowa's Dairy Center and would replace an aging facility. The new facility would have 13,750 square feet of space. It will be used by Beef Science Technology, Large Animal Veterinary Technician, Agriculture Business and Dairy Science students,
NICC Board members on Thursday morning will review four sets of bids--for site work, for general construction, for mechanical systems and for electrical systems. The estimated construction cost is $850,000.
If all goes well, the facility will be completed this fall.
