The Decorah City Council has endorsed an application for a state "RISE" grant to be used to extend Sweet Parkway in the Decorah Business Park.
There's a September 1st deadline to apply for the grant, which is part of the "Revitalze Iowa's Strong Economy" program. The City of Decorah is hoping for a $350,000 grant. The road extension would cost a total of $750,000.
City officials say the road extension is needed so more property in the business park can be developed. If the state grant is approved, construction of the road could be done next summer.
