Decorah High School looking for two young children to perform in upcoming play

The Decorah High School Speech and Drama Department is holding auditions for the roles of Marta and Gretl, the youngest daughters of the Von Trapp family, for this fall's production of "The Sound of Music."

Girls in first through sixth grade may audition by preparing a short scene and two song excerpts from the musical.  The auditions will be held by directors Jason Rausch and Tom Houdek, assisted by Kristen Underwood, on either Wednesday, August 26th, from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. or Thursday, August 27th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Audition material will be sent out by email when scheduling a time slot.

To request an audition, please email kristenunderwood50@gmail.com, and include the name and age of the girl auditioning, parent or guardian's name, and a phone number.  The two students chosen for the roles will be expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals, mostly weekday evenings.  A more complete rehearsal schedule will be available by the end of August.

Performances of "The Sound of Music" will be November 12th, 13th and 14th.
