A decorahnews.com reader who wishes to remain anonymous to protect herself from strange e-mails says, "From the second floor of my house on the east side of Decorah, I saw a weird light in the sky around 9:10 Tuesday night.
It was a light ball fluctuating between orange and red. It slowly moved up in the sky from near the horizon over in the direction of Palisades to higher up in the sky, then it moved side to side, and over a few seconds it slowly faded to nothing.
It couldn't have been an airplane/helicopter/drone because it was completely silent. Also the sky was still somewhat blue and no stars were out yet and I didn't see any silhouettes of any aircraft. It was not close to the ground but not as high as a larger plane would fly.
Just wondering if anyone else saw what I saw tonight... Or if there is an explanation you know of?"
