It hasn't been a typical summertime so far in Decorah this year.
Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz has crunched the numbers for July and says temperatures averaged 1.5 degrees cooler than normal, while rainfall was 1.84 inches less than normal.
While temperatures ranged from 90 degrees on the 13th, 14th and 17th, they also dropped to 48 degrees on the 2nd. Overall, JUly of 2015 was 84th warmest on the list of 121 Julys in which temperature records have been kept.
Decorah received 2.16 inches of rainfall in July--which was the first time since March that precipitation was below normal. For the past 12 months, there still has been an excess of 1.99 inches more than normal of precipitation.
