Accident sends two motorcycle riders to the hospital

Two motorcycle riders from Ostrander, Minnesota were injured Thursday afternoon in an accident north of Festina on HIghway 150.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says 55-year-old Dale Christopherson and 60-year-old James Nelson were traveling northbound when a grey four door sedan slowed down unexpectedly to turn into a farm driveway.  The motorcycle riders lost control of their motorcycles and collided, causing the riders to be thrown off.

Christopherson and Nelson were taken to the Winneshiek Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.  One of the riders was later transferred to Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department is asking the driver of the grey sedan to call in to the Sheriff's Office at (563) 382-4268 to help with the accident investigation.
