Schottisching into the record books

The exact total hasn't been confirmed yet, but Saturday night's Schottische on Water Street during Nordic Fest didn't just break the previous world record of 802 participants--it shattered it!

The confirmed total of dancers at this point is 1,844, but an additional 72 dancers are being contacted.

No matter what the final count, the new world record will belong to the Foot-Notes and Decorah's Nordic Fest!

Said Foot-Notes band member Beth Rotto, "It was unquestionably the World's Largest Schottische. People reported that dancers were packed from State Street to Winnebago Street. I'm thrilled!"
