New brewing company, Pulpit Rock, opens its doors and umbrellas

The Pulpit Rock Brewing Company opened for business Thursday afternoon at 207 College Drive in Decorah. The business served beers it had purchased from distributors, but has plans to become a local producer of craft beer.

Some patrons at the new business remarked how soon having two breweries in Decorah, along with area restaurants and recreational offerings, should attract visitors from big cities in the region who are looking for new weekend and week-long trip destinations.
