Northeast Iowa Community College has begun taking registration for a class that will teach applying innovative recruitment techniques for business owners looking to attract job candidates with high degrees of relevance to the open position.
"Recruitment 101" will be taught by NICC's Dr. Wendy Mihm-Herold on Wednesday, August 5th, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the NICC Center on Highway 9 in Cresco.
The class will help recruiters to create a filter f job applicants rather than just a simple funnel by developing job postings that do a good job of describing an organization, what the job will entail and why the job opportunity should matter to the candidate.
The class is partially funded by a $35,500 grant to the Winneshiek County Development, Inc. from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development.
To register online for "Recruitment 101" (#43339) or for more information, visit www.nicc.edu/solutions or call NICC Business and Community Solutions at (800) 728-2256, ext. 399. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
