Northeast Iowa Community College has received a $300,000 grant spread over two years.
The money from an anonymous donor will be used to support a college initiative that provides services to economically disadvantaged students. Individualized coaching is provided to these students from recruitment through job placement.
The stipulations of the grant require that 80 percent of the students served by the additional funding be under the age of 30 or a parent, as well as economically disadvantaged.
The grant supports the College's efforts to maximize partnerships with state, federal and local funding partners to ensure students can seamlessly transition along their selected career path, accessing services and resources as they progress.
