What's next for the Decorah bald Eagle webcam?

Once again the volunteers who operate the Decorah Bald Eagle webcam are left scrambling to react to events.

A weekend storm destroyed the tree in which the eagles had built their newest nest.

Raptor Resource Project Director Bob Anderson says it will be awhile before his group will learn what the bald eagle parents will do next.  Two years ago the eagles abandoned their existing nest and built the new nest along the Trout Run Trail.  But there's no guarantee the parents will return to the originial nest now that the second nest has been destroyed.

Anderson tells decorahnews.com it's likely that his group will set up cameras at the nest of a second bald eagle pair north of Decorah.  That will entail a lot of work to put up the necessary equipment--but it's something the group has had to do before.
