Letter to the Editor: Please take part in the United Way golf tournament

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by United Way of Winneshiek County Golf Benefit Chairperson Sara Bulman):

"The United Way of Winneshiek County invites the whole community to join in our 13th annual United Way Golf Benefit on Monday, August 3rd. The four-person best shot tournament will take place at Oneota Golf and Country Club. Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Cost for the benefit is $50 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf. Lunch and beverages will be available for purchase. Prizes donated by area businesses will be awarded for the top three teams in each flight, for flag events and more. Get a hole in one, win a 2014 Cadillac ATS sponsored by Decorah Chevrolet, Cadillac.

This year we are proud to welcome Rick Dodson, former Denver Bronco and Celebrity golfer. He will be playing on a team and will be available to meet and sign autographs after the tournament.

The golf benefit aims to cover all United Way campaign expenses so that every dollar raised in the campaign goes directly to the 20 agencies that United Way helps right here in Winneshiek County. We hope to exceed the amount raised last year and have a goal of 100 golfers this year. Thanks to our three event sponsors, Decorah Bank & Trust, Rockwell Collins, and Viking State Bank & Trust, we are off to a great start.
