Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson to visit Decorah Wednesday

The first visit by a 2016 Republican Party presidential candiate to Decorah will come next week.

Dr. Ben Carson will speak from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15th, at Chase the Adventure on Middle Calmar Road.

Carson is a native of Detroit, Michigan.  He is a physician who served for 29 years at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, directing pediatric neurosurgery the hospital.

Carson announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination on May 4th.  Polls have shown him in the top five candidates in Iowa, attracting the support of many conservatives.
