The 2014 Winneshiek County Fair Princess is now the 2015 Winneshiek County Fair Queen

The 2015 Winneshiek County Fair Queen is 18-year-old Ashley Kurash of Fort Atkinson.

Kurash is a four-year letter winner in volleyball and softball at Turkey Valley High School.  She has won many local and state awards for 4-H, including for clothing, communication, visual arts and home improvement projects.  She is the daughter of Allan and Teresa Kurash of Fort Atkinson.

Emily was selected from five young women Tuesday afternoon at the Winneshiek County Fair.  18-year-old Nicole Schmitt of Fort Atkinson was named Winneshiek County Fair Princess.  She is the daughter of Jim and Christie Schmitt of Fort Atkinson.

Last year's Fair royalty were Fair Queen Lydia Dawley and Fair Princess Ashley Kurash.

This year's other Fair Queen contestants were 16-year-old Marissa Foels of Postville; 16-year-old Katey Forde of Decorah; and 17-year-old Ashley Schwartzhoff of Decorah.
