City and county police were busy over the Fourth of July weekend.

Friday morning around 11:15, deputies responded to a traffic accident on Chimney Rock Road.  38-year-old Lee Hutchinson of Decorah lost control of his pickup and went into a ditch, striking several trees.  A passenger, 19-year-old Jackson Hendricks of Clarksville, Iowa, was taken by ambulance to Winneshiek Medical Center.

Friday night around 6:45, deputies arrested 35-year-old Lisa Schroeder of Fort Atkinson for driving with a suspended license.  The charge followed a traffic stop on Middle Calmar Road.

Saturday night deputies arrested 47-year-old Rodney Fisher of Cresco on Public Intoxication charges at Chimney Rock Park near Bluffton.

Also Saturday night, 20-year-old Aaron Hundt of McGregor was charged with drunk driving after he was involved in a minor accident on County W-14 near Spillville.

And early Monday--around 6:15 a.m.--Decorah Police were called to Pleasant Avenue by Dawn Koenig of Decorah, who reported her car had been struck from behind by a second vehicle while it was parked on Pleasant Avenue.  Koenig's car was pushed 44 feet onto the boulevard of the street.  The second vehicle--which reportedly might have been a Chevrolet--then left the scene of the accident without reporting it.  The accident caused $5,000 in damages.
