The Decorah City Street Committee wants to take bids on the repaving of the city portion of Pleasant Avenue.
Traffic counts taken on the street, which heads out to the Trout Hatchery past two cemeteries, have been surprisingly high, say city officials. That has put the repaving of Pleasant Avenue on the radar of city officials.
"It's the worst road we have in the city," said city council member Tade Kerndt. Street Committee Chair Gary Rustad suggested the city seek bids on the repaving project and see how those bids come in. The repaving project carries a cost estimate of $100,000.
