Construction work to begin Tuesday on River Road

Work on River Road in Freeport is anticipated to begin on Tuesday. 

WK Construction and Skyline Construction are going to be milling the roadway at various locations on the River Road between Moellers Drive in the Industrial Park to the Upper Iowa River Bridge northeast of Freeport. 

It is highly recommended that motorists detour around Freeport during construction because width restrictions will be a major concern.  Detour on 170th Avenue to Old Stage Road for southbound traffic and onto Old Stage Road to 170th Avenue for northbound traffic. 

There is another small stretch that will be done north of Haugen Hummel and south of the Upper Iowa River Bridge on the River Road.  The closure time on this stretch is a minimal time.

The work will require pilot cars and flaggers in and around the work areas.  Expect delays during this milling work.
