The Winneshiek Medical Center Board of Trustees met July 1, the first day of a new fiscal year, and after eleven months of the previous fiscal year, there is stability above the hospital's goal of 1.5 percent between net revenues (7.0 percent) and operating expenses (3.9 percent), WMC Chief Financial Officer Lynn Luloff told the board. "We've done a good job turning that around from last year," she said.
The board approved Joe Kruse as the designated person to serve as a contact and liaison within the MCHS-Franciscan Healthcare organization to the WMC Board of Trustees. It also approved a capital equipment request of $203,000 for a boiler burner upgrade (to affect utility saving), and a second Roche Chemistry c501 analyzer for the laboratory.
WMC's quality director, Trudy Belay, reported that on a "quality scorecard" developed by her department, measuring more than 80 items, shows 9 of 10 patients giving favorable scores.
