Decorah received 7.16 inches of rain during June, according to Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz. That is 2.47 inches more than the average and places the month 21st on the list of the past 120 Junes in Decorah.
Bernatz says more than half of June's total rainfall fell on June 22nd--3.65 inches. That meant that rainfall totals have been above average in Decorah for the past three straight months, totaling 16.58 inches from April 1st through June 30th--or 4.59 inches more than normal.
On the other hand, temperatures were fairly normal during June. Decorah averaged 68.2 degrees during June, which was just 0.2 degrees warmer than average and put June of 2015 almost right in the middle of June temperatures over the last 120 years.
