Iowa Governor Terry Branstad issues limited disaster declaration for Winneshiek County

Iowa Governor Terry Branstad Wednesday issued a disaster emergency proclamation affecting Winneshiek County and 17 other counties in response to recent severe weather.

The governor's proclamation allows state resources to be used to respond to and recover from the effects of severe storms and flooding June 24th in Allamakee, Clayton, Howard, Winneshiek and 14 other counties.

In addition, the governor's proclamation activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Program for residents of ten counties, but NOT the four NE Iowa counties.  State assistance in Winneshiek, Allamakee, Clayton and Howard counties will be limited to the use of state resources in flood recovery.
