One week after a heavy thunderstorm rolled through Winneshiek County, dumping 3-to-6 inches of rain in a short period of time, another thunderstorm rolled through the area Monday night with strong winds and hail but much lower rainfall amounts.

The storm ripped off a small roof at Schacht Motors/Hi-Way Tire in Decorah and blew down a number of branches.  In Allamakee County, one-inch hail fell in several locations.  Heavy rains washed out Highway 76 along the Mississippi River, closing it from County X-52 to Marquette.
