Aase Haugen Senior Services on Tuesday will observe the exact 100th anniversary of the dedication ceremony for the original Aase Haugen Home.
Tuesday's 4:00 p.m. celebration will be held at the South Bear School, the site of the Original Aase Haugen Home. At 4:30 p.m. there will be a dedication ceremony, with music and special guest speakers from across the state, as well as theatrical skits of anecdotal histories from residents of the original home. At 5:30 p.m. there will be a re-creation of the historic panorama picture in front of the original Aase Haugen Home. Throughout the evening there will be a BBQ picnic, games for the kids and entertainment.
Parking will be at the John Deere dealership parking lot on Highway 9 west of town, with shuttle buses taking attendees to and from the site. Organizers are asking people who are attending the celebration to arrive a bit early to ensure getting to the site on time. Shuttles will not be running from 4:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., but will resume by 5:10 p.m.
Tuesday's celebration is free and open to the public.
