Work continues on Freeport Trail

As reported earlier on decorahnews.com, the contractor for the Freeport Trail is hoping to finish its paving of the trail segment from Walmart to Wellington Place by July 4th--if the weather cooperates.

decorahnews.com photographer Bob Modersohn caught up with workers from Wicks Construction on Thursday as they were pouring and smoothing out concrete along Old Stage Road near River Road.

While quite a bit of progress is being made on the Walmart to Wellington Place segment of the trail, work is also continuing on the Wellington Place to Haugen-Hummel segment, with workers preparing the bike trail bed.
