The Winneshiek County Fairgrounds now has a new look.
Workers on Wednesday installed four concrete pillars from the property in Orleans Township once owned by Fair Secretary Leon Brown. The pillars were installed Wednesday at the fairgrounds as a tribute to Brown, who was active in community affairs in addition to devoting many years to the growth of the Winneshiek County Fair.
Moving the pillars was made possible by donations of time, machinery and muscle from Letterwerks, E & B Christopher Construction of Bluffton, John Schnitzler, Ed and Mike Christopher, Shane Courtney, Calvin Rue, Ron and Eugene Bronner and property owner, Tom McGee.
Tax deductible donations are being accepted for this project. To donate contact Edna Schrandt.
