Crops are doing well so far for Winneshiek County farmers

The 2015 growing season has gotten off to a good start for Winneshiek County farmers.

ISU Extension Agronomist Brian Lang from Decorah says the number of Growing Degree Days in Northeast Iowa are currently anywhere from 650 to 750 from May 1st through June 22nd.

Decorah has had 712 growing degree days and temperatures ranging from 34 degrees to 94 degrees since May 1st.  Lang says that is right at the long-term normal.
