Paving of the Freeport Trail should begin on Thursday

Winneshiek County Engineer Lee Bjerke says paving will in all likelihood begin Thursday on a portion of the Freeport bike trail.

Crews will begin pouring concrete Thursday--if the weather allows--on part of the bike trail between Walmart and Wellington Place.

Contractors hope to have that segment of the bike trail paved and ready for use by the Fourth of July weekend--assuming the weather cooperates.
