Posted: Wed, Jun 17, 2015 4:07 PM

Decorah Public Library and Winneshiek County Conservation are partnering to offer outdoor experiences for adults this summer.

"Into the Wild" events are free and open to all adults, ages 18 and up.  The only requirement is that those interested in participating must contact Decorah Public Library at 382-3717 to pre-register.

The first mini trip will start at 10:00 a.m. next Tuesday, June 23rd at the Decorah Community Prairie and Butterfly Garden (located near Aase Haugen; with parking available on the other side of the dike).  Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water to drink as the group learns about the plant life in the prairie.

The next mini trip will start at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30th, at the Dug Road trailhead of Trout Run Trail.  Bring your bike, your helmet (required), and a bottle of water. This leisurely ride will include a rest stop at the Decorah Fish Hatchery.  Participants may ride from Dug Road to the Hatchery and then turn around and return via the same route, or they may elect to continue on and complete the full 12 mile loop.

Call Decorah Public Library at 382-3717 to register or get more information.
