One of this year's Decorah eagles has fledged

D21, about to fly away for the first time

The first eaglet from the 2015 Decorah Bald Eagle Nest hatchings has just fledged. 

"D21" has left the nest, with "D22" and "D23" expected to fledge within the next few days if all goes well.

Raptor Resource Project Director Bob Anderson says this year's crop of eaglets has been doing well--with no repeat of the severe black fly infestation that was experienced last year.
