National Weather Service expands its flash flood watch to include Winneshiek, Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette and Chickasaw counties

The National Weather Service in La Crosse has expanded its Flash Flood Watch to include Winneshiek County starting at 1:00 p.m. Thursday.

The Weather Service says people should plan on an extended period of showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rainfall that could be as much as several inches.  That could touch off minor to major flood on area rivers and streams.
