Two-vehicle accident injures two drivers, causes $12,500 in damages

A two-vehicle collision on Highway 52 and 236th Avenue Tuesday afternoon caused $12,500 in damages.

86-year-old Mildred Danielson of Decorah was traveling west on 236th Avenue and 81-year-old Merle Peterson of Mabel was traveling north on Highway 52.  Danielson stopped for a stop sign and then proceeded onto Highway 52, where she collided with Peterson.

Danielson was cited for Failure to Yield Upon Entering Through Roadway.  Both drivers were transported by Winneshiek County Ambulance to Winneshiek Medical Center with injuries.
