Investigation into car-deer accident leads to drunk driving charges

Last month 21-year-old Samuel Meirick of Decorah swerved to miss a deer while driving on Highway 52 early in the morning.

On Monday police concluded their investigation into the accident by charging Meirck with First Offense Operating While Intoxicated.

A court date for Meirick has been scheduled for Monday, June 22nd.
